Thanks to Adrian Iodice, (Beekeeping Naturally), Jon Darvill and Kelly Whitaker,  Les Crowder: America’s Leading Natural Beekeeper visits Australia.

This August, one of America’s most respected natural beekeepers will share decades of hard-won experience with us beekeepers here in Australia ready to explore treatment-free approaches.

Les Crowder established the Kenyan top bar hive movement back in the 80’s and has successfully managed Varroa without chemicals throughout his long career. Joining him is his business partner Nathalie B, who manages over 600 treatment-free hives. Together, they bring practical wisdom and lots of giving that could reshape how you think about bee management.

Their Australian tour includes very affordable $20 workshops and talks across Southern and Northern NSW and the ACT offering invaluable learning for beekeepers willing to avoid the chemical treadmill.

These talks represent communities of practice developing genuine alternatives to industrial beekeeping. Whether you’re committed to treatment-free methods or simply want to understand your options, these conversations can’t be missed and are essential for the future of sustainable beekeeping.
Find out more about Varroa from Adrian Iodice’s informative article “Where Varrroa Stands Now: The Current Spread”.

                      Natural Beekeeping Summit

They will also be joining me and many other Natural beekeepers from across Australia to share experiences with natural approaches at the Natural Beekeeping Summit.

Join us for the 2025 Natural Beekeeping Summit, taking place August 23–24 at Heartlandia in Wilsons Creek, NSW. This 2-day event brings together passionate bee tenders, earth stewards, and nature lovers for a weekend of connection and learning.
