ACT for Bees @ RENEW Canberra
August 28, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Presentation: Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and, as pollinators, play a critical role in the production of food crops for human consumption. They are also amazingly interesting insects. As spring approaches it is valuable for all of us to learn more about bees and how to create a bee friendly garden. What should we plant? How do we create pollination corridors and what pesticides and herbicides are deadly for bees? How do you go about building a bee hotel to encourage our native bees to stay in your garden?
Guest Speaker: Julie Armstrong
Julie Armstrong has a passion for raising awareness about bees through education. As part of this mission she founded the “ACT for Bees” organisation in 2014 as a response to the global bee crisis. Julie has been involved in Steiner education for over 20 years and brings her love and connection with nature to her advocacy work.
This is a public meeting; please invite anyone who might be interested.
We hope to see you at this really interesting evening.
Regards,
Andrew, Secretary, Renew Canberra Branch
